We know we talk about it a lot but we are so proud of our incredible and diverse roster and here at GG Talent Group, we represent over 100 talented creators.
On this roster are also a number of VTubers. If you’ve been following what we are up to for a while, you will know how much we love VTubers. They’re dedicated to their craft, enthusiastic and have super high engagement.
So, for this installment of Creator Spotlight, we want to introduce Deme.
Deme is a VTuber and online content creator from the Philippines, known for her energetic live streams, video reactions, and love for FPS games.
Let's find out more about her.
Please tell us a bit about who you are and what you do.
I’m Deme! I’m from the Philippines - born and raised! I’m an online content creator focusing on live streaming as a VTuber. I absolutely love reacting to videos and clips, and playing a variety of games (I love FPS games the most though)!
How did you get into gaming/streaming?
It was during my university days. I was studying Computer Science, and in my 3rd year, I had to take a break to undergo surgeries. I struggled with Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome, which made my knees dislocate a lot. During the recovery period after surgery, I was really bored and honestly lonely. My online friends recommended that I start streaming since they loved my presence before and thought I’d be a good “yapper” for it!
Why did you decide to become a VTuber?
I tried no-cam streams, but I’m so reactive with my face and hand movements that it felt like a waste to hide that. I also tried face-camming; however, I’m genuinely really insecure, and it always exhausted me to be constantly aware that there’s a camera pointed at me. VTubing ended up being the perfect mix of both worlds, I got to be comfortable while still showing my expressions! It's also genuinely so fun to build a character that fits your personality the best.
What inspired your character?
Personally, I went through lots of designs before finalizing my main one (the one I have now). My good friend Lunchboxwithrice, who was originally a viewer and became a friend, helped me a ton with finding myself and designing my character. It took a long time before I was finally happy and decided to stick with this forever. A professional artist also helped a ton in finalizing and creating an outfit that matched what I loved. A lot of the design is based on things I love and things I personally find cool.
How long did your current model take from idea to debut?
In total, I think it took about a year for the model I have now, to become what it is today. The design, the creation, the after-edits, and tinkering to make it exactly what you want - it’s a lot of work and dedication, not only from you but also from the artists you work with. I believe a total of five different artists helped bring my 3D model design to what it is now.
If your character had a superpower, what would it be and why?
If I were to have a superpower, it would 100% be teleportation, so I wouldn’t have to bother with visas just to go to another country and could attend IRL events. LOL.
How would you describe your community?
They’re wonderful! They’re absolutely unhinged, but at the same time, they care so much for the community and for me. It’s the perfect mix of humor and seriousness when the time calls for it.
What has been your career highlight to date?
My career highlight would definitely be being able to earn enough from streaming that I can fully focus on it. I recently did a subathon and I never thought I'd be able to say I've had 20,000+ subs before in my life. Being able to do this for a living was never actually a dream of mine, I never thought it would happen for me. I didn’t grow up thinking I’d be a YouTuber or streamer, so when people recognize me now, it still always surprises me. I'm so thankful to be given this opportunity in life, and I'll never take it for granted.
What are your plans for the future?
My plans are to buy land and build a house where I can do every kind of stream imaginable. I want to create more full-body tracking streams, work on myself in real life so I can also do content outside of VTubing, and show my real self too. I’d love to branch out more, make new friends, and go to the United States so I can meet up with my friends there and stream together. I also want to watch CS events IRL and attend TwitchCon EU!
Anything else exciting you’ve been up to that you’d like to highlight?
I’ve been working on doing more immersive streams with my full body being tracked to my VTuber. It’s been an expensive journey, around $10,000+ has already been spent, and that’s not even including the VTuber itself! I'm also working on health, focusing and learning about my disabilities has been absolutely hard but worth the journey to understand my body more.
